Layers of Time is a show studio. We draw the rig, program the lights, cut the content and stand at front of house when the doors open.
We have been running rooms in Singapore since 2018: clubs, brand launches, festivals, public installations and theatre. In 2025 we started writing our own show-control software because nothing on the market owned the whole room. SINGULARITY now runs our shows and is on its way to running other people's.
Most studios pick a side, creative or technical. We work at the seam. The same people who draw the concept patch the universes and sit at the desk when the first track drops.

A show is a system.
Light, video and sound are one rig on one clock. We design them together and we run them together.

The technology should disappear.
If the room notices the equipment, something is wrong. The best cue is the one nobody can explain.

Measured, not hoped for.
Timecode jitter, takeover time, packet rate. If it matters on the night, we have a number for it.

Built for failure.
Every main has a standby. Every standby has been tested by pulling the plug.

Scale never excuses detail.
A 10,000-person festival and a 200-person bar get the same cue list discipline.

Where a tool is ours, it is because we needed it on a show and it did not exist. The rest is what the best crews in the world use, and we are fluent in it.

I started as a visual artist and Notch designer, and I still sit at front of house on our shows. Since 2018 I have built real-time visual systems, generative content and lighting rigs for clubs, brands and festivals. In 2025 I started writing SINGULARITY because I was tired of timecode that did not survive the network.
The studio is a crew of full-time designers, operators and technicians, plus freelancers we have worked with for years. Names and faces are coming to this page with the next set of photographs.
